BPA – Blind People’s Association, based in Ahmedabad, is a Gold-certified NGO focused on empowering individuals with disabilities through education, training, and employment. It began in 1954 as a small recreation club started by individuals with visual impairment. Over the years, it has grown into a large, multi-faceted organization providing a wide range of services for persons with disabilities.
BPA works across multiple areas including:
- Prevention and early intervention
- Education and skill development
- Counselling and rehabilitation
- Employment and livelihood support
The organization focuses on enabling individuals to become self-reliant and live with dignity.
It was found by Mr. Jagdish K Patel in 1954 and since 1979 Mr. Bhushan Punani came on board and till date is managing the organization.
