The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment launched the 24×7 toll-free mental health rehabilitation helpline KIRAN / Tele-Manas (1800-891-4416) to support individuals with mental health concerns, particularly in response to the increased need during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The service provides early screening, psychological first aid, counselling, distress management, and referrals to mental health professionals. It supports individuals experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, trauma, substance abuse, and suicidal thoughts, as well as other mental health emergencies.
Designed as a national support system, the helpline offers guidance and counselling in 13 languages and is accessible to individuals, families, NGOs, institutions, and anyone in need of mental health support across the country.
