About this Provider
It is a quasi-judicial body established under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, to provide a fast-track mechanism for resolving consumer grievances. Unlike the CERC (which is a research and advocacy NGO), the CDRC is the official government-run authority where you can file legal cases against defective goods or deficient services
The system is divided based on the monetary value of the claim:
- District Commission (DCDRC): Handles cases where the value of goods or services is up to ₹50 lakh.
- State Commission (SCDRC): Handles cases between ₹50 lakh and ₹2 crore.
- National Commission (NCDRC): Based in New Delhi, it hears cases exceeding ₹2 crore.
